About Me ...the Author

Once upon a time I was primary teacher. Working with the lower end of the school was so rewarding, particularly when it came to helping children learn to read and experience the wonder of choosing a book, turning the pages and getting lost in the story.

After teaching for about 13 years I discovered other career pathways to follow, moving into community education in health and road safety education programs. I returned to university to complete a Masters in Business Administration taking me into a new career in business management and consulting. From there I set up my own consulting business, joined a larger consulting group before going into partnership with a colleague as business advisor working with specialist medical doctors setting up private practice and supporting private practice businesses. I stopped working full time in 2014.

Education has always at the heart of everything I did – teaching in a different form with a different audience. So much of this writing was formalised and regulated. Ten years ago I decided to rediscover creative writing and joined various groups, workshops and tried to find my creative voice again.

My goal is to write stories that make a difference in the world
